ADHD in Children & Teens

ADHD care designed for growing brains.

Pediatric-specialized ADHD evaluations and treatment for kids and teens ages 5 to 18. Evidence-based care from clinicians who understand how ADHD shows up in developing brains.

ADHD looks different in every child.

These are some of the most common signs parents and teachers notice in children and teens with ADHD.

Difficulty paying attention

Can't stay focused on homework, seems like they're "not listening" even when they're trying, loses track during conversations or instructions.

Acting before thinking

Blurts out answers in class, can't wait their turn, makes choices without considering consequences.

Can't sit still

Fidgeting, squirming in their seat, getting up when they're supposed to stay put, always climbing or running.

Losing things and forgetting

Misplacing homework, forgetting instructions five minutes later, leaving belongings at school, messy backpack.

Avoiding hard tasks

Resists homework or anything that requires sustained focus. Not laziness. Their brain struggles to get started.

Big emotions

Meltdowns over small frustrations, difficulty recovering from disappointment, reactions that feel out of proportion.

Evidence-based ADHD care, built around your child.

Evidence-based, pediatric-focused ADHD treatment tailored to your child's specific needs and developmental stage.

Behavioral Therapy

Parent training in behavior management is the recommended first-line treatment for young children with ADHD per AAP guidelines. We also use structured behavioral interventions to build real skills your child can use at home and school.

  • Parent training in behavior management (PTBM)
  • Building routines and daily structure
  • Managing emotions and frustration
  • Academic and homework strategies
  • Social skills and communication

Medication Management

When therapy alone isn't enough, medication can make a real difference. We start low, adjust carefully, and monitor closely.

  • Stimulant and non-stimulant options
  • Careful dose titration based on response
  • Side effect monitoring at every visit
  • Regular check-ins to track progress
  • Coordination with your child's school and other providers

What to know before your first visit.

Do we need a prior diagnosis?

No. Your provider will conduct a full evaluation at your first visit, including validated screening tools (ASRS, Vanderbilt). If ADHD fits, your child will get a diagnosis and a treatment plan in the same session.

Can my child get medication on the first visit?

Yes, if your provider determines medication is appropriate after the evaluation, they can prescribe the same day. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your pharmacy.

Do you accept our insurance?

We accept most major insurance plans in California. Your coverage will be verified before your first visit, and we'll let you know your copay or coinsurance amount upfront.

What ages do you treat?

We see children and teens ages 5 to 18. For patients under 18, a parent or guardian must consent to treatment and attend part of the initial evaluation.

How long are visits?

Your first visit (evaluation) is 60 minutes. Follow-up therapy sessions are 45 minutes. Medication check-ins are 15-20 minutes.

What about stimulant prescriptions?

In California, stimulant medications (Schedule II) require a new prescription every 30 days. No auto-refills. Your provider will send a new Rx before each fill.
